Linwood William Lee, Jr.

Linwood William Lee, Jr. was granted his wings on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Tidal Health, surrounded by his family. Linwood was the first of twins (Linda) born June 30, 1951, in Crisfield, MD to the late Peggy Sterling-Bascomb and Linwood Lee Sr.

Linwood was moved by his mother to Baltimore in 1962, he was educated and majored in carpentry at Fairmont Hill Vocational high school.  Linwood moved to Virginia and married Iristine who preceded him in death.

Over the years Linwood worked for Church Home and Hospital in Baltimore and Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA until his retirement and moved home to Crisfield. Linwood had a heart of gold-he enjoyed family, cooking, sending morning text to everyone, talking on the phone, community service, fishing, shadowing Lamont on all his travels and becoming a brother of the Crisfield Pride Lodge # 194.  He really-really enjoyed his porch, friends, and family far & near would gather and celebrate life on the porch. He leaves to cherish wonderful memories with three of his children, Troy, Katrina Lee and Lamont Potter; six sisters, Anna Anderson (Troy), Paulette Sterling, Gladys Williams, Lynn Thompson (Michael), Lydia Thomas (Johnnie), Debbie Bell (Clarence), three brothers, John Lee (Barbara), Kevin Evans and Ryan Evans; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles and  aunts; one granddaughter,  that he raised as his own,  Katrina Lee, Jr. and his buddy,  TOBY.

Preceding him in death, one son, Wilbert Sanders; his siblings, Brenda Wilson, Linda Lee-Beal (Twin), Rupert Lee, Deborah Sterling, Paul Sterling and Shawn Evans.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14 , 2023 at John Wesley United Methodist Church,  27945 Holland Crossing RD in Marion Station, MD with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6:00 PM-8:-00 PM Friday, January 13, 2023 at the church. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Crisfield.

    Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and prayers. Linwood was a gentle giant that did not mind helping anyone. He will long be remembered for his kind and friendly attributes.

    As you go through this most difficult period,, remember that God will sustain you.

  2. Brother Linwood Lee was a rare gem. I will always remember him, not just because of all of the helpful things he did for our Elks Lodge and Temple, but also because he was a very kind and caring person. His smile could light up a room.
    As a side note, he was a great dancer. 😀 Rest now from your labor my dear Brother Linwood.
